In my opinion, the stereotype has become a habit for us which are why most of the people can't avoid having a stereotype. In fact, some of them might not even realize that they often have stereotype on people as it is a normal thing to label and make any assumption towards people. However, it is unhealthy and not a good habit to be done in our daily life. This stereotype will lead to conflict as people will fight each other. Everyone is not the same person. So, the stereotype on Malay is lazy cannot be accepted as not every Malay people is a lazy person. Some of them are successful people, for example, Vivy Yusuf. If Malays are lazy, so why she can make it and success in her life? Yes, everyone has their right to judge people but they need to limit it and not to blame the whole community. In this matter, it’s not suitable to apply “One bad apple spoils the barrel” term.

STEREOTYPING
What is stereotyping? In my understanding, stereotype means judging people a group of people who are different from us and make any assumption on it without the valid reason. Nowadays, the stereotype is a common thing in our society. The stereotype is not only related with our first impression about toward something, but it also included our religion and culture as well. It became wide and goes beyond the facts at hand. The most common stereotype exist in Malaysian is where Malay was labelled as lazy people.

EXPECTATIONS & HOPE FOR THIS SUBJECT
Assalamualaikum & hi!
Okay when you’re going to semester 4, you will be listening more about this one course called Critical Literacy, CL from your senior. But I already been hearing about this subject since semester 3 when I’m about to give up on Introduction the Tertiary Learning, ITTL subject last semester. It started when the seniors always remind me that the subject on Semester 4 will be tougher than last semester.
“No, ITTL is nothing compared to CL.” “Ah, ‘good luck’ for your CL.” “Good luck and don’t repeat that paper.” And I heard more than that together with their sarcastic tone. It became harder when the day of registering the class is around the corner, when we actually need to decide which lecturer we want them to teach. It’s where you heard much about seniors told us or maybe our friend shared the information from the super seniors.
For me, the word ‘critical’ already scared me. I already think that I might be critical same as the subject’s name haha. But, all I can do is trying my best and praying that I will pass this paper or maybe pass with flying colour (well, daydreaming about it will not cost anything :p)
Until the first class, our coordinator for this subject, Madam Zariati conducts the subject in the mass lecture. She enlightens us and gives introduction a bit about this subject. From my understanding, this subject revolves around the rule of 10. By mastering and understand about this rule, you can do the assignments well. I can see that it is important to have full understanding of this rule. I hope that I will able to fully mastered and doing well in writing the rules of 10. This subject would tough me on how to think critically and outside the box as you need to think from different angle and other perspective to obtain information from the article. And not to forget, this subject also encouraged the student to read more. From hate, you will love reading.
I just hope and pray that everyone will pass this subject!
